Bill;

According to the health experts (once again, that is not us at Game and Fish), this is not a disease that is transmissable to humans.

Ron;

Ah rumors. Some people have fertile imaginations. According to the independent laboratories we sent the dead carp samples to, it is indeed the Koi Herpes Virus (KHV) causing the carp die-offs. According to the health experts (and that is not us by the way), this virus poses no human health risks. It seems logical that this virus could spread down the river system, but we aren’t the disease experts and can’t say for sure. Does that help clarify it for you?

I was at Havasu last weekend and most of the stories I heard were of the herpes virus. However I also heard a couple people say that F&G were trying to wipe out a harmful imported marine organism that is effecting the other fish speices in the lake and in the process wiped out some Carp unintentionally. Any truth to that?
