The logs near the boatramp at Blue Ridge are part of a naturally occurring problem caused by the wet winter, which washed in a large amount of driftwood into the lake. Moving the logs will only result in a short term fix of the problem. As soon as the wind starts to blow, new logs, or the logs that were moved will just return causing the same problem. The only real solution is to wait for the wind to blow the logs toward the dam. For anglers the logs should help in locating fish. Fish like the overhead cover they provide.

Hello everyone!
Blue Ridge: The boat launch area is packed with driftwood, AZ. G&F told me they will do nothing to ease the situation. It is up to us to wait until the logs are saturated and sink (2-3 months). If I could get my 17' boat into the water I know I could move the larger logs out away from shore 20'-30' and the wind would then move them out of the area. I would gladly spend the time to get this done if I could launch. Some 12' boats are getting into the water, tie your bow rope to one of those big logs and pull it away from the launch area, they move easily! Use your bow to push the smaller driftwood out into the channel. Do this for yourself and all those to follow before the jam makes it impossible for anyone to launch! Contact me via Email (davegarner2002@yahoo.com) and I will be happy to meet you up there to accomplish this goal. Put "Blue Ridge" in the subject line. Thank you to all those who would help!
