Being a grandparent myself, I understand. Catching memories is what it’s all about. Here are a couple of options for you.

We have two urban fishing lakes in the Tucson area, Silverbell and Kennedy. Personally, I like Silverbell better because I caught a fish there on the first cast of my first visit. They are close and easy to fish from shore. You don’t have to travel far. They are great for kids to fish. Right now we are stocking them with channel catfish, but there are sunfish as well. In November, we will be stocking them with trout.

But if you want the camping experience or just a nice day trip to fish for trout, head up Mt. Lemon and try Rose Canyon Lake. It is 40 scenic miles from Tucson. To me, this is the place to build the great memories if you are up to it. Get some Power Bait, small slip sinkers, relax on the shoreline and catfish some rainbows. It doesn’t get much better than that.

I'm looking for a place to go fishing to take my granddaughters at ages 3 years old and 9 months old. This will probally be my First & Last visit with them; finicialy I can't afford to travel. But I would love to teach the older one how to fish and she can teach the younger sister later and she can say that she learned how to fish from her grandma. All I want to do is create memories with my gtandchildren. They live in Tucson,Az.

I would appreciate your help their mother has MS and their Father works all the time and they don't have a car to go places when he isn't working; he rides a bike to work.

So help me make memories with my Grandchildren

Sincerely,
Patricia Tatum

PS. We love to fish & camp.
