Sounds like a good trolling technique others can emulate.

When trolling I like 4 lb test leader of at least 36"- 48 inches from the flashers. On the main line I tie on a small set of flashers (I like a combo copper or gold and nickel) with no weight and a small piece of worm & cover the hook point. When trolling I like to use "zig & zag" motion with the boat to make the bait and flashers speed up and slow down. Of course "slow" and slower are the desired speed. When "U" turning, make it as wide as possible. I usually try and stay somewhat close to shore, but deep enough so as not to snag bottom. When letting line out, do so slowly with a tight line so you don't foul your bait with the flashers & with a higher motor speed until you're out your desired distance. I like around 35' to 75', but that is a personal preference. Catch one for me. Jim

Night crawlers are a great method indeed. What are your thoughts on trolling?

I went fishing at Chaparrel lake on Saturday the 24th. I used powerbait, lures, and salmon eggs. I fished for 2 hours and didn't catch anything. What am I doing wrong?
