We fished several spots in the White Mountains on Friday 9/18 and Saturday 9/19. There were several storms while we were up ther including a hail storm that dropped several inches. Helped to cool the water down.
We took a look at Luna Lake and it was still very green from the algae bloom.
We fished Nelson Resevoir on Friday morning. We caught three fish on yellow panther martin spinners. My Dad caught a really nice 20 inch rainbow. The others were just average. I caught one on a worm. Most people were having success on worms and power bait.
We fished Crescent Lake the next morning because we got a report that it was fishing good. Not True. My father in law caught two on a brown leech fly. That was it. The only other people having success were fishing from the boat ramp with worms. We saw several boats pack up and leave because it was really slow.
We fished the east fork of the Black River on Friday evening. My brother caught several on a humpy.
On Saturday we fished the Black River south of Wildcat Point. The brown mayflies were hatching like crazy. My brother picked up several on a brown mayfly. My other borther and I caught several using worms.
It was a fun weekend. We jsut need a couple more weeks for thoses lakes to cool off. The algae should all clear up and the fish should get real active.
