Did you ever think you could have lunch with a skunk? You may have that once in a lifetime chance if you stop in at this week’s Lunchtime Speaker Series talk hosted by the Arizona Game and Fish Department’s Flagstaff Regional Office.
Some of Arizona’s unique wildlife species, from the Game and Fish Department’s Adobe Mountain Wildlife Center, will be the main attraction at the lunchtime talk on Dec. 16. The presentation will begin at noon and will include a variety of animals that live in Arizona’s diverse habitats.
While you look, listen, and learn about these amazing animals you can also enjoy a delicious light lunch sponsored by the Pita Pit located in downtown Flagstaff.
Future talks will include the following topics:
• Jan. 20- Antelope, Roads, and Restoration
• Feb. 17- Ducks, Geese and More: Waterfowl in Arizona
• Mar. 16- Watchable Wildlife in Northern Arizona: Where to go and what will I see?
• April 20- Healthy Eating: The benefits of Game Meat
• May 18- “What’s cooking?” Fish and Game Meat Recipes
• June 15- 4FRI: What is the Four Forest Restoration Initiative?
“We had a good turnout for our first talk but we want to encourage more people to take advantage of the great presentations provided during our speaker series. We want everyone to learn more about Arizona’s unique wildlife and outdoor opportunities,” says Shelly Shepherd, public information officer for Game and Fish. “The talks are only one hour and are a great way to spend the lunch hour.”
