Join the Arizona Elk Society in the COOL White Mountains near Big Lake for a weekend of work and relaxation. On June 9th, National Get Outdoors Day, Mormon Lake Lodge will host a free Outdoor Festival from 10am to 3pm. The event will highlight the outdoors, outdoor activities, environmental education and conservation with a special emphasis on providing information and activities for families and youth. Informative displays will be provided by the Coconino National Forest, Bureau of Land Management, National Park Servce, Arizona Game and Fish and various outdoor groups and organizations. There will be a special fun and informative interactive program led by students from AAEC High School in Phoenix, dubbed Crayfest, about catching, cleaning and eating crayfish. Information will be provided about the harmful immpacts that invasive crayfish has on Arizona's ecosystems and raparian areas.
