Come on guys...

Regardless of the size of the bear, this is about a father and two sons spending quality time in the woods. The turkey and the bear are both trophies, and I'm sure the memories will last forever. Congrats.

I remember my first desert mule deer (2x2). It was one of my favorite hunts. The mount still hangs proudly in my home. It's the quality of the experience, not the size of the rack.

what state is this in???

i'm wondering where he could have hunted bear and turkey, on the same day, and legally killed both? maybe the AZGFD is wondering the same things??? most units with bear and turkey both in it are closed for bear by now......if he did make legal kills then congrats, but this smells fishy!

Overlapping Fall Hunts

Many Arizona Fall general bear hunts started on 10/2, and Arizona Fall limited weapon shotgun turkey hunts also ran from 10/2 - 10/8.

With all this negativity, I'm hesitant to post any of my pictures. What a shame.

Again, the smiles on the guys in the picture above really show what this sport/hobby/past-time/tradition is all about. Good job.

The Story...

the hunts overlapped, we got drawn for turkey Oct 2-oct 8, 2009 4A and 4B and bought the general nonepermit-tag bear oct 2 - dec 31, 2009 4A and 5A. My father shot the turkey in the morning with his shotgun and the bear at sunset with the 30-6 on Sunday Oct 4th in unit 4A. it was the hunt of a lifetime, it is a memory with my dad I will never forget. The bear was reported to Arizona Game and fish for proof of sex and unit taken. she was a two and a half year old 120 pound Sow. it was our first time bear hunting.

Enjoy your time with your dad in the outdoors. Every hunt is great, whether you harvest an animal or not. I agree with morrison jr71, what's with all the negativity? It's too bad Noah S felt like he had to explain the situation.

Great Job!!

I think 5x4 muley must be about RETARDED! Sounds like he/she needs to figure out they live in ARIZONA!! I had a friend kill a bear this am and another buddy kill a turkey this pm all about 6 miles from my house (here in AZ!!), but congrats to the family of Noah S!! Shooting a turkey and a bear in 1 day........What an awesome family experience!!

awesome job

what a great day! nothing better then spending time with family and having a day of harvesting two tough animals. the negativity from others is just them jealous. this is the closest to them animals they will get. the only way for them to get any action is feeding and talking down to others over the net. that bear is a legal bear and if he stepped out i would shoot too. good job!

With all the antihunters out there, u would think WE could support one another with LEGAL hunting!! The cycle of a hunter begins with a harvest then with experience moves to focus on trophys.... Remember when u first hunted... Second, I was out that weekend with the boys on their youth hunt and was walked in on by Elk scouters. One asked what hunt was going on??? After thinking about it, it was a total of FIVE!! Ain't AZ great!! MY buddy's first bear was just like that a 2-3 year old Sow. We pulled her out of an area that had a big boar and another sow w/ a cub so i do think it was detrimental to the population! Also i believe that the AZGFD is on top of the balance between oppurtunty and game management.

It is pretty sweet harvesting two animals in one day. Despite the small size of the bear the "trophy" is all about what it means to the hunter and the family. Nice hunt.

5X4muley Needs a Life

It is readily apparent that as one reads through all of the comments on photos, that 5x4muley never has anything good to say. If its not commenting on a missing tag on a deer shot by a young hunter (that even the blind could see in the photo); to a complete lack of hunting regulation knowledge by accusing someone of shooting out of season. This guy needs to find a hobby other than whining to the general public. Enjoy the photos submitted by others and don't always assume the worst.
