Reminder: Hunt application deadline is Tuesday, June 10

June 5, 2008

For all of you hunters who have not applied yet, the fall hunt-permit application deadline for deer, turkey, javelina, bighorn sheep and buffalo is Tuesday, June 10 at 7 p.m. (MST). Applications must be received by the Arizona Game and Fish Department by that time; postmarks don’t count.

The online application process is not available. Regulations containing season dates, hunt numbers, permit levels and application information are available at license dealers throughout the state, at Arizona Game and Fish Department offices, or via downloading from the department’s Web site at www.azgfd.gov/draw.

When figuring out your fall hunting schedule, don’t forget that this year there are over-the-counter turkey tags available for youth up to and throughout the calendar year of their 17th birthday for selected hunt units from Oct. 3-9.

Also keep in mind that all of the fall javelina hunts (page 25 of the regulations) are now juniors-only.

Applications can be dropped off at all department offices until 7 p.m. on June 10. Remember, credit cards and cash will not be accepted. Also, keep in mind that although Game and Fish personnel will be available to accept applications until 7 p.m. (MST), department front counters close at 5 p.m. in accordance with state law.
